Lobby Day Campaigns

In an effort to broaden support for public education issues and build partnerships with other public education stakeholders, OEA encouraged members, as well as parents, administrators, school board members, students, and other stakeholders to join OEA’s lobby day efforts. Because the Lobby Days were scheduled irregularly, it was important to strongly brand them so people would immediately recognize and stop for Lobby Day posts. Photos of real members talking to legislators during previous Lobby Days told viewers they could do it too. One such campaign followed a particular member’s journey through Lobby Day, from making the decision participate to post-Lobby Day analysis. Participation increased by 400% between 2014 and 2018 following initial branding efforts.
